Overview

Starting with 6 hour driving (187KM)to Jiri.this trek follows the traditionl routetaken by early everest expedition and still serve main artly to the roadless Everest region.

This trek offers an wonderful opportunity to climb kalapathar (5,545m), overlooking the base camp area, superb view of the highest mountains including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu etc, and to interact with the indigenous people. This is considered as the highly praised trekking route to Everest region. It was in 1952 when two renowed figures Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr. Tenzing Sherpa had taken the same route to Mt. Everest. After a seven hours scenic drive to Jiri, we follow spectacular route via Solukhumbu area through the heart of fine Sherpa villages, each village having something new to offer. It offers an ample chance to explore beautiful forest, farming country sides and several monasteries situated at high elevation on the way to Lukla. Once one has passed Lukla, we climb on to Namche, the main trading village of the Khumbu area continuing via Thyangboche monastery to Pherche and Lobuche.

Day 20: Namche Bazaar- Phakding and Lukla 7 hour

Day 21: Lukla- Kathmandu

Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Arrival in Katmandu, transfer to hotel, brief about the trip, and well-come dinner at evening through the typical Nepalese kitchen.

Day02: Drive Kathmandu to Jiri (187 km)
7- 8 hours interesting car / van / jeep driving from Kathmandu. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 03:Trek to Bhandar
We begin the the walk with a climb to the ridge top at 2400m. Then the trail drops down to Shivalaya at 1800m. Before the Jiri road was opened the trek used to go through those, which at that time was the busiest market town between Lamosangu and Namche bazaar.

After reaching Shivalaya, we make another climb to Sangbadanda at 2150m, Kosaribas at 2500m, then to Bhanjyang, a pass at Bhandar at 2200m. We can possibly take a detour between Sangbadanda and Bhandar to visit Thodung at 3090m. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 04: Trek to Sete
Today the trail drops down to the Likhu Khloa and crosses the river at 1580m, and tracks along it to Kenja. Now we make the long climb to Lamjura pass. The first part of the climb is quite steep, and then it traverses to Sete, and abandoned gompa at 2575m. Then we continue through the villages inhabited by Sherpas and have both Nepali and Sherpa names. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 05: Trek to Junbesi
The day begins with a long but gradual climb to the Lamjura pass at 3530m. There you are rewarded with frost and often snow along the trail in winter or with flowering rhododendrons in the spring. Goyem at 3300m. The pass is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar ,there you have good lunch stop. From the top you descend to Tragdobuk at 2860m, then to the pretty Sherpa village of Junbesi at 2675m. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 06: Trek to Nuntala
This day we climb to a ridge at 3080m, from where Everest slowly begin to appear infront of your eye, then on to Salung at 2650m. From Junbesi the trail leads to the hospital and airstrip at Phaplu and the district headquarters and bazaar at Salleri. Leaving Salung, we make our way descending to the Ringmo Khola at 2650m. The trail ups to Ringmo. There we see garden of apples and other fruit; the Apple House offers apple juice, pie and rakshi (rice spirit). The new trail from here to Namche Bazaar was built in the 1980s and avoids many of the steep descents and ascents of the old route.

We make a short climb from Ringmo Khola that takes us to the 3071m Trakshindo pass, then the trail drops down pass the monastery of the same name, on to Nuntala at 2320m. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 07: Trek to Khari khola
Leaving Nunthala , the trail continues descending to the Dudh Koshi (Milk River) where the trail then ascends through several Sherpa villages, terraced fields and forests to Khari Khola. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 08: Trek to Puiyan
We start a day with a climb towards Puiyan through Sherpa villages and a forest inhabited by monkeys, passing through a narrow canyon before arriving at Puiyan. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 09: Trek to Phakding
This day we continue a climb from Puiyan to a ridge at 2800 metres, before a gradual ascent to the final ridge, where we descend to Surke following the trail towards Phakding. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 10: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m.).
Today we start at Phakding, from where we head up the valley, beside the Dudh Kosi, to Sagamartha National Park. We continue our journey through the upstream along the riverbank to the confluence of the Bhote Kosi and Dudh Kosi. As our ascent begins to Namche Bazaar, that provides us fantastic photographic opportunities as the peaks of Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8511m), Nuptse (7879m), Arna Dablam (6856m) and Taweche (6542m) come into view for the first time. Day 11: Namche Bazaar - Acclimatization day.
The trail hikes up the Syanboche Airport, and around Everest View Hotel. From here, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with a stunning sunrise or sunset over the panorama of the Khumbu peaks. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

Day 12: Trek to Tyangboche (5 to 6 hrs walk) - 3,870m/12,694ft
After breakfast in Namche, we start our trek towards Tengboche. Our trek follows on the gradual trail with few short up and downs overlooking magnificent view of the great Himalaya. We enjoy our nice walking till to riverside where we take breathe for lunch. After lunch we start our walking through pine forest for 2 more hours to reach Tyangboche. Tyangboche is a very great place for close up views of Ama-Dablam and it has a biggest Buddhist Monastery all over in Khumbu region. Over night stay at Tyangboche.

Day 13: Tengboche-Dingboche: 5-6 hour
There's a slight descent early today through lush forest, before the gradual climb up to the valleys highest year round settlement of Pangboche (3,860m/12,664ft). Continue ascending in the afternoon through alpine meadows and yak herds, eventually reaching Dingboche

Day 14: Dingboche: Rest Day
The second acclimatization day will be spent at Dingboche. As at Namche Bazaar, there is a side-trip planned from Dingboche, or you can rest. The side trip will wind up the valley to Chhukung for sensational views

Day 15: Ding boche to Lobuche: 5 hour
Today is a climb to Duglha (4,620m/15,158ft) where we will have lunch . From here there are stunning views of Tawachee and Cholatse (64440m). The trail goes from Duglha directly up to the Khumbu Glacier for an hour, then left into the memorial area before reaching the village of Lubuche (4,930m/12,894ft). By this stage the effects of the altitude will be kicking in and you can expect colder nights.

Day 16: Lubuche-Gorak Shep: 2-4 hour
The trail continues climb to Gorak Shep. It takes a couple of hours to walk up to the famous viewing point of Kala Pattar (Black Rock) at 5,545m/18,192ft; this small peak offers the best views of Mt. Everest, Pumori and Ama Dablam you can get without climbing. Overnight in Gorak Shep (5,160m/16,929ft).

Day 17: Gorak Shep-Everest Base Camp- Lubuche: 8 hour
this day leads you finally to the Everest Base Camp (5,357m/17,575ft) walking through rocky and glacial trails where climbers gather for summiting Everest. Continuing the trek we'll return to Lobuche (4930m/12894ft) for overnight.

Day 18: Lubuche-Pangboche: 5-6 hour
The trek retraces halfway back and lunch at Pheriche. Finally the trek ends at Pangboche (3,860m/12,664ft), which lies on the bank of Imja Khola.

Day 19: Pangboche- Namche Bazaar: 5-6 hour
now the trail retraces the same way back, stopping at Tengboche. During the November-December full moon the colorful Mani Rimdu festival is held here with much singing and dancing. Overnight in Namche Bazaar (3,400m/11,286ft).

Day 20: Namche Bazaar- Phakding and Lukla 7 hour
today the trail steeply descends to the Hillary Suspension Bridge and then continues on an easy natural trail to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft and the trail will lead you back to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax, stretch those sore legs and celebrate the completion of your trek.

Day 21: Lukla- Kathmandu
After an early morning flight to Kathmandu, you'll head to your hotel. Today is a well-earned day to put up your weary feet and gratefully rediscover all of civilization's perks. You could catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any sights missed during your first day in Kathmandu. Finally there'll be an evening celebration dinner together

Day 22: Depature from Nepal as your per time.
