                              Tibet Tour with Everest Base Camp

The Tibet  Tour with Mount Everest Base Camp  is a very comprehensive tour of Tibet with visits to the cultural, historic and natural attractions of Tibet. The tour includes all the important places of interest in central & south Tibet including a visit to Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp. After flying in to Lhasa from Kathmandu, Chengdu or Beijing, explore the cultural and historic sites of Lhasa, Shigatse and Gyantse. Afterwards drive overland, in 4-WD jeeps, across the Tibetan highlands and high passes to the fabled Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp from where the view of the great North face of Mount Everest is the most spectacular of all. Tour starts with flight in and out of Lhasa.

Day 01: Arrive Nepal

Day 02: prepare for Tibet tour

Day 03:  Fly to Lhasa.

Day 04: Tsetang.

Day 05:  Drive from Tsetang to Lhasa.

Day 06: Visit  Lhasa.

Day 07: Visit Drepung Monastery.

Day 08: Full day excursion to Namtso Lake.

Day 09: Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake.

Day 10: Visit Pelku Chode and Kumbum Monastery in Gyantse.

Day 11: Visit Tashilunbo Monastery and drive to Xegar and visit Sakya Monastery

Day 12: Drive from Xegar to Dza Rongbuk Monastery.

Day 13: Excursion around Rongbuk and Everest region.

Day 14: Drive from Nyalam to Zhangmu border and drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 15: Depature From Nepal as per your time.

Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Fly to Lhasa.
If the weather is clear there are wonderful views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and other peaks en route. On arrival at Gonggar airport (which is 90 km. from Lhasa), you meet your vehicle and drive east along the broad Yarlung Tsangpo valley to Tsetang (3400m.).

Day 02: Tsetang.
In the morning, you visit Yumbulakhang Palace and Trandduk temple. In the evening you visit the Ancient Tibetan King's Tombs in Chongye valley. Stay overnight at hotel in Tsetang.

Day 03:  Drive from Tsetang to Lhasa.
Visit Samye Monastery en route. Stay overnight at hotel in Lhasa. Early morning drive to Samye. Here you visit the Samye Monastery. After a tour around this place you drive back to Lhasa.

Day 04: Visit  Lhasa.
In the morning, you visit Potala Palace and in the evening you visit Sera Monastery and Norbulinka. One of the highlights is the visit to the symbol of Tibet; the Potala Palace set high on Red Hill, the winter home of the Dalai Lama until 1959.

Day 05: Visit Drepung Monastery.
In the evening you visit Jorkhang Temple and Barkhor street. Drepung Monastery is the world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks

Day 06: Full day excursion to Namtso Lake.
Drive back to Lhasa and visit Yangpacheng Hot Spring en route. Stay overnight at hotel in Lhasa.

Day 07: Drive from Lhasa to Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake.
Stay overnight at hotel in Gyantse. Today is a full day picturesque drive crossing over a colorful Yamdrok Lake and Kambala Pass at 4,794 m and Karola Pass at 5,010 m.

Day 08: Visit Pelku Chode and Kumbum Monastery in Gyantse.
Aafter lunch drive to Shigatse. Stay overnight at hotel in Shigatse. In Gyantse you spend time visiting the Pelke Chode Monastery and the 35m high famous Kumbum Stupa inGyantse packed with exquisite Tibetan sculpture and paintings, a stunning architectural wonder in Tibet.

Day 09: Visit Tashilunbo Monastery and drive to Xegar and visit Sakya Monastery
Shigatse is situated near the junction of the Ngang and Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) rivers, with many traditional low ceiling, flat roofed, mud brick Tibetan houses, but quite a lot of ugly modern Chinese buildings as well. It is home of the Tashilunpo Monastery, traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, and one of the great centers of Tibetan Buddhism. Shigatse also has an interesting bazaar, where various traditional items can often be found at more or less reasonable prices. Shigatse has always been an important trade and administration center and also has political and religious significance, once being the seat of the Panchen Lama.

Day 10 Drive from Xegar to Dza Rongbuk Monastery.
Excursion from Rongbuk to Everest Base Camp I by local carriage, and return to Rongbuk. Stay overnight at hotel in Rongbuk.

Day 11 Excursion around Rongbuk and Everest region.
same day drive directly to Nyalam. Stay overnight at hotel in Nyalam.

Day 12 Drive from Nyalam to Zhangmu border
Go through the Zhangmu China Custom formalities, drive down to Friendship.
