Overview

The climb is combined with the classic trek around the Annapurna massif, ascending the Marshyangdi valley and crossing the Thorong La, before descending the Kali Gandaki valley to Pokhara. The climb is technically straightforward and you should be familiar with the use of your equipment, crampons, harness, ice axe, tying knots and handling climbing ropes. Most of the climbing will be involved walking roped together, including the glacial crossings. You should be very fit and have good experience of climbing.

The North-East Ridge is considered the normal route to climb this peak from a Base Camp on the moraine at 5334m (17500ft). Most climbers make it to the top and back from Base Camp in one long day although some have, in the past, established a higher camp somewhere below the peak. Another subsidiary peak called Chulu Far East (6059m) 19880ft) may also be attempted from this approach.

Day 03: Drive to Besi Sahar (alt. 770m). O/N in Hotel.
Day 04: Trek to Khudi (alt. 790m). O/N in Lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Bahundanda (alt. 1310m). O/N in Lodge.
Day 06: Trek to Jagat (alt. 1340m). O/N in Lodge. O/N in Lodge.
Day 07: Trek to Dharapani (alt. 1860 m). O/N in Lodge.
Day 08: Trek to Chame (alt. 2670 m). O/N in Lodge.
Day 09: Trek to Pisang (alt. 3200m). O/N in Lodge.
Day 10: Trek to Julu. O/N in  Camp.
Day 11: Acclimatization day
Day 12: Trek to Yak Kharka. O/N in Camp.--- Climbing days ---- 
Day 13: Trek to Lower Base camp (alt. 4300m ). O/N in Camp. 
Day 14 : Rest at BC. 0/N in Camp.  
Day 15 : Trek to High camp (alt. 5,330m).O/N in Camp. 
Day 16-18 : Climb Chulu East Summit. Additional  days in case of bad weather. O/N in Camp.--- Back to trekking trail --- Day 19: Trek to Manang. O/N in Lodge. 
Day 20: Trek to Thorung Phedi (alt. 4420m). O/N in Lodge. 
Day 21: Trek to Muktinath crossing over Throrong La pass (alt.5,416m). O/N in Lodge. 
Day 22: Trek to Jomsom ( alt. 2713m). O/N in Lodge. 
Day 23: Morning flight to pokhara and leisure day in Pokhara. O/N in Hotel. 
Day 24: Fly to Kathmandu. Celebration  dinner. O/N in Hotel. 
Day 25: International departure
