This is a superb introduction to trekking in Nepal among some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country, with rich tamang culture.

Many years ago Nepal, fought with Tibet for salt and some of the biggest areas where this war took place is in the Langtang Region of Nepal, wherein lies the third most popular trekking trail in Nepal.
This area is connected to Tibet and the trails in this region were used by traders from Tibet bartering in Salt and mountain goats for meat (changra) with foodstuffs from the south.Developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program, the "Tamang Heritage Trail" is the newly developed tourism product, off the beaten track, which highlights an ancient lifestyle combining it with picturesque scenery and healing baths in natural hot springs.The people of this region are mostly Tibetans who came from Kerung in Tibet across the border and settled in Nepal. In earlier days, the citizenship of Nepal would not be offered to real Tibetans, so they changed their ethnicity to Tamang, which is what they still write till date. The cultural and traditions of these people are similar to the Tibetan across the border.This Heritage Trekking trail starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. The trail may end back in Syabrubesi or follow Dhunche bazzar.

Short Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive international airport in Kathmandu and free transport to selected hotel at Thamel, The hotel is centrally located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu, which is renowned for its many restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs etc which cater for the tourists.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley full day sightseeing with professional tour guide,

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru bensi 09 hours by local bus, overnight in guest house/ lodge.

Day 04: Syabru besi trek to Gatlang (5 hrs) and overnight in Home stay or the community lodge built by the community.

Day 05: Gatlang trek to Tatopani (Natural hot-spring) (6-7 hrs) and which have very good pond for bathing.over night in community lodge/ Home-stay house.

Day 06: Tatopani trek to Thuman (6 hrs) and overnight in community lodge /local house or home-stay.

Day 07: Thuman trek to Briddim (6 hrs) and overnight in local home

Day 08: Briddim trek to Sherpa gaun (5 hrs) and overnight in local house or community house. Also available tea house/ guest house.

Day 09: Sherpa gaun trek to syabrubensi (5 hrs) and overnight in teahouse/ guest hous.

Day 10: Syabru bensi Drive back to Kathmandu by local bus (09 hours) Overnight at the hotel.
