Overview

Australian camp Trek is one of the short trekking routs in Annapurna region. Australian Camp is known as Thulo kharka. This trip started from Dhampus.The journey to Dhampus village, one of the paradises of Nepal, begins from Phedi village, nearly a 30 minutes drive from beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. From here one trek alongside beautiful views of golden rice terraces the vast expanse of the Annapurna Mountain range. This 2 hours climb to Dhampus continues through magnificent rhododendron forest nesting various species of birds to the village of Chandrakot, inhabited by the warm-hearted and hospitable Gurung People. In terms of climbing technicalities, it is an easy mountain to ascend. The overwhelming altitude differences between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges make Dhampus peak a very vantage spot to observe the mountains with Tukuche Peak 6920m and Dhaulagiri 8167m spectacularly close to you. When you emerge from the forest and reach Dhampus, you will be able to marvel at exceptional view of massive Mt. Machhapuchhare. Popularly known as Fishtail Mountain 6900m for its peak resemble the shape of fish’s tail. From Dhampus one can also grab the exceptional view of Pokhara and the scenery gets even better as the sun goes down. The small village comprise of enormous beauty of mountains, friendly Gurung People, a small lake from where one can get the reflection of fishtail, temples, flowers, mustard fields, birds, and many more. The walk next day through forest to the Australian camp is also equally scenic. Dhampus is not just a Mountain View point but a culturally rich village of the ethnic Gurung people. You will also have an opportunity for a close look at the daily lives of the villagers.

Short Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Nepal.
Day 02: Kathmandut to Pokhara by Bus or by Plane.
Day 03: Pokhara to trek Australian Camp.
Day 04: Trek to Sarangkot from Australian Camp.
Day 05: Sarcngkot to Pokhara.
Day 06:Pokhara to kathmandu by Bus or by Plane.

Itinerary Detail

Day 1: Arrive In Nepal.
We will meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Short  brief. Free time walk around the city. evening  Diner with Nepalese Kitchen over night Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Fly or By Bus from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/35min and transfer to Hotel.
In The Morning, our car will come to pick up you in your hotel in Kathmandu, transfer to domestic airport and flight to Pokhara and check in Hotel in Pokhara. We will have our lunch with viewing Phewa Lake in very good restaurant and playing ground for the children. After lunch, we will visit Barahi Temple with boating for an hour. Then, we will have our dinner with culture show in Lake View Resort in the evening. We will stay in Hotel in Lake Side Area in Pokhara.

Day 3: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and trek to Dhampus/ Australian Camp  2165/ 5 hour walk.
Morning wake up and have a breakfast. Then, we will take a car or van and drive to Phedi which takes about 45 minutes. We will start to steep climb up with stone staircases through the Rhododendron forest until reaching lower Dhampus which takes about 1 hour. Then, we will gently climb up again passing the terraced fields and small houses. We again keep climbing up through the rhododendron forest until reaching on the ridge which takes about 1 hour. We can see very spectacular Annapurna Range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Then, we trek on the plain or road trail until reaching our Hotel which takes about 30 minutes. We will have a lunch in Dhampus.After the Lunch,we will start gently climb up through the rhododendron and oak forests until reaching Pothana which takes about 1 and half hour. We make a short rest and keep climbing up with stone staircases until reaching Australian Camp which takes about 1 hour. We will enjoy with Sunset view over the Himalayas in the evening. We will stay overnight in Hotel.

Day 4: Rest and short Jungle Walking.
Today, we make a short Jungle Walking just above our hotel. The trail is good to walk through the Rhododendron, oak and fir forest about 1 and half hour and back to Hotel. Luckily, sometime we can see white face monkey and some wild animals as well as very beautiful birds. This is very spectacular when the Rhododendron is blooming in the March and April. We will have a lunch and afternoon free for playing with children in the ground. When we will hike small hills near the hotel, we can see very beautiful Phewa Lake and Pokhara Valley as far as from you. In the evening, we will have our dinner and we will make campfire and singing Nepali Folk songs and dancing with children. We will stay overnight in Hotel.

Day 5: Trek from Australian Camp to Naudnada/Sarangkot.
Morning wake up and enjoy with sunrise view over the majestic Himalayas, then have a breakfast. After breakfast, we will gently walk down in the plain trail for a while, then walk through of Rice terec to naudanda.we will  have lunch there  and continues the trek to Sarangkot. Over Night Sarangkot.

Day  6: Trek  from  Sarangkot to Pokhara.
Early Morning , climb to Sarangkot view tour, take aphoto sunrise view with Annapurna Himalaya.  Back to Hotel, take breakfast. After breakfast walk to Downhill  2 hours to near the lake side Pokhara. Overnight Pokhara.

Day 7: Pokhara to Kathmandu by bus or plane.
Early   Morning back to Kathmandu by tourist bus.  Over  Night Kahtmandu.

Day 8: departure from Nepal as per your time.
